Strategy for science and tech for WBCS exam

• Understand and learn the basic concepts. Don’t try to mug up facts.
• Correlate syllabus to current affairs. Read the daily newspapers and PIB. Once you spot a new development in science and tech in India or affecting India, go through that article well. After that, understand the basic science involved in that development. Then, go through NCERTs or any basic science book to understand what the concept is all about.
• Here, range is more important that depth. Learn the major keywords on that topic. You don’t have to go into the details.
• Clarity is very important. This section is both static and dynamic.
• Go through the schemes and programmes involved in that field.

How to Prepare ENVIRONMENT-

There are many books and coaching notes in the market but seeing the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the subject, there is no concrete material available. Considering this many aspirants find it difficult to prepare and lose substantially in Prelims. It is very important to know the basics from the NCERT texts or any book, but is that is not sufficient.

 What to read?

• The most important aspect of preparation is sources and resources that build your confidence as well as chances.

How to prepare current affairs for WBCS?

The commission has included current affairs in the exam but the syllabus of current affairs is not defined for both prelims and mains exam, hence all that an aspirant has to do is to read major newspapers every day and make notes out of it .
