    WBCSMadeEasy: When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: After I passed my 12th exam I have decided for joining wbcs.
    As it is the best way to serve people i think,it inspired me.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Tell us something about yourself? Educational Qualification, Marks/Division/Class, schooling…..

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: II have completed my schooling from Birbhum Zilla School.
    Then I have completed my graduation with Economics Hons from Burdwan Raj
    College with 71% marks i.e. first division.I got 80% in M.P and 68% in H.S.

    WBCSMadeEasy: What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: As i had Pol sc as one of my pass subject during my graduation and as i
    was comfortable with this subject I took this as my optional.

    WBCSMadeEasy: How did you sustain the study-momentum throughout the year?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: I have maintained my study schedule regularly till the last day.:)

    WBCSMadeEasy: How many hours did you study per day? How many months did it take you to complete the core syllabus of Compulsory and optional subjects?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: I have studied 5 to 6 hrs regularly. It took 6 months to complete the
    whole syllabus of compulsory and optional and then I have started revision.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Did u use internet, was it effective? Which newspapers & magazines you went through?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: Yes,I have used internet and it was very helpful. Internet is the main
    source of my current affairs preparation.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Were you doing any other job during preparation?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: No.I was not working anywhere during my preparation.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Which newspapers & magazines you went through?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: I followed ABP in bengali and The Hindu in English.Reading newspaper
    daily were very much helpful for writting skill as well as for current affairs I think.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Did u take coaching? How was the experience?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: Usually it is difficult to decide what to read and what to leave. For
    this purpose coaching is helpful.

    WBCSMadeEasy: What about Interview in WBCS? Was the board cordial?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: Interview board was very cordial.I think one should aware of the current
    issues before appearing for interview.
    Secondly,He or she should make a preparation related to his or her subject.
    And obviously it is necessary to maintain a proper dressing and mannerism.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Plz suggest some good books for pre, comp, optional.

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: I have studied Pearson GS Mannual for preli exam.
    For mains have followed many books for detail knowledge such as Bipan
    Chandra for history,Majid Hussain for Geography, Laxmikant for constitution etc.

    WBCSMadeEasy: What should be the strategy for cracking this exam?What message you want to give to all aspirants?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: I would like to say one thing to all that regular study is very
    important for cracking this exam.Everyone should maintain a proper schedule
    so that they can complete the whole syllabus including complusory and
    optional within time and they can revise it for many times.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Anything else u want to share?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: No.Nothing like that.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Was it ur 1st attempt? If not what about previous ones? You are from which batch and what was your rank in WBCS Exam (Plz don’t mind)?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: Yes.It was my first attempt. I stood 4th in CTO

    WBCSMadeEasy: Do you suggest anything on changed pattern of WBCS Exam like how to choose optional subject, how to study for main exam now , what should be the strategy etc.?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: In the new mcq pattern of wbcs there is no scope for selective study.
    One should read the whole syllabus thoroughly. The more you read the more you will get common.
    The most important thing is the selection of optional paper. In my opinion one should go for that subject in which he or she is comfortable.
    To take a new subject may not be a wise decision always.

    WBCSMadeEasy: Have you ever seen our website? How helpful it is in WBCS exam?

    Mr. Suman Mukherjee: Yes. I have visited ur website many times and it was really very
    helpful. Regular update of current affairs in this website is very useful for preparation.
