We thank Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar for sharing this details.
WBCSMadeEasy:When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?
Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar: When I was working at NeoITS in the year 2003-04, I had decided to be a civil servant, but I set small targets like Clerkship 04, Miscellaneous Services 05 & 06. I hv been appointed as LDA, BYO & CWO from above those services respectively.
WBCSMadeEasy:Tell something about yourself? Educational Qualification, Marks/Division/Class, schooling…..
Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar:I have Master Degree in IT from Visva Bharati graduated from Calcutta University with Physics. I got high I division in HS and national scholarship holder in Madhyamik Examination.
WBCSMadeEasy: What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?
Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar:I started with Anthropology and Physics in 2005 but I was eliminated in personality test. I realised that Physics take much time to answer as at the hons. level we got 4 hrs, but in WBCS I have to write answer of same length in 3 hrs. So I dumped Physics in 08 and Took Psychology. In my opinion the optionals which are scoring and taking short time to prepare are the fittest. But at least one year of in depth study is required to get good marks in any optional and a series of continuous & planed mock test according to the chapters is needed. Being an employed person I did not have that much time for both the optionals. I had emphasised on my first optional Anthropology and I got selected in Grp.C , as RO ranking 162 in general standard list. in WBCS 09 and 10 I again got GRP. C . finally I got ADSR from WBCS 2011, Grp A.
WBCSMadeEasy: How did you sustain the study-momentum throughout the year?
Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar:I gave 10 hrs per day in 2005-06, but hardly get 2 hrs after being an officer. I formed a group with my aspirant co workers. year long study of optionals helped me to fetch good marks with small study time.
