The UPSC has set an age limit for candidates who wish to take the civil services exam. For the general community, the age limit is 32 years. (The candidate should not be more than 32 years of age). The minimum age you need to have complete to be eligible for this exam is 21 years.
UPSC Age Limit for General Category 2020
UPSC calculates age as on 1st August of the year in which the exam is conducted. So, for the 2020 civil services exam, you should be above 21 years of age as on 1st August 2020. Even the upper age is calculated as on 1st August. So, you should not be more than 32 years as on 1st August 2020.
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 32 years
This implies that the date of birth of candidates who wish to take the 2020 UPSC civil services exam should fall between 2nd August 1988 and 1st August 1999.
