General Book List of W.B.C.S. Examination As Per Syllabus

WBCS পরীক্ষার জন্য সিলেবাস অনুযায়ী  সাধারণ বইয়ের তালিকা 

Firstly keep in mind that there is a general book list for all students.But it will vary according to the bach ground and capacity of them. Here we are discussing on general part only.

• FIRST, One should clear the basic for all the subjects. For this he/she should read NCERT & WB GOVT OLD SYLLABUS books of class IX & X of the following subjects: –

           a) HISTORY (only the Indian History parts)

           b) GEOGRAPHY (including Physical Geography)

           c) Economy (only the Indian Economic Development Macro-Economy part)

          2. Next, One should study the following books

          a) Indian Polity by M. Laxmikanth.

          b) Basic Economy from Ramesh Singh .

          c) Banking, Five Year Plans and other topics of Economy from a standard economy of WBCS

          d) West Bengal Geography from Kartick Chandra Mondal.

          e) Science from any quality book like General Science in GK book by Arihant.

          f) Environment from G.S. Manual (Nitin Singhania’s book is very good)

          3. In THIRD stage,

          a) Download a Current affairs module of any quality website and make notes.

          b) Static G.K. may be covered from any G.K. book like Lucent.

IN between these, PRACTICE OF MATH and REASONING/GENERAL INTELLIGENCE IS MUST.

For Math, after clearing the basic concepts from a ordinary book, one should practice from SSC Previous Year solved Math book or Rakesh Yadav book.

For Reasoning, practice from any CSAT book & RS Agarwal’s book. Pearson’s book is good one.

IF Someone prepares the above, 2/3 of his/her preparation is complete.

Before two -three months of Preliminary exam, Previous years question of English may be revised. No other preparation is required for this subject in case of prelims examination.

After Preliminary examination (may also be started earlier), start practice to write answers on the topics asked in Paper-I & Paper-II of Mains. In this connection reading newspaper is must as this will give fodder material to write answer of Paper-I & II.

Along with these, optional paper must have been ready atleast three months before the Mains examination, for that start preparing for it in September.
