WBCSMadeEasy:: When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty ::The idea was hovering over my mind since my college days but the real inspiration came from one of my seniors at office.

WBCSMadeEasy:: Tell us something about yourself? Educational Qualification, Marks/Division/Class, schoolinG.

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty : : I belong to a nuclear family and based out of Kolkata.I passed my Secondary and Higher Secondary Exams in 2003 and 2005 with 81.5 & 81.2 % of marks respectively.Completed my B.Tech in 2009 with 8.34 CGPA.I am working with an IT MNC from 2010.

WBCSMadeEasy:: What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty : :Optional selection I believe is the key to success.One should select such an optional which is scoring and less cumbersome.

WBCSMadeEasy:: How did you sustain the study-momentum throughout the year?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty: :Carrying the momentum is the key.Hence it is very essential to go on dreaming about the success.(Please don’t dream while driving…. 🙂 LOOOOOLZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!).

WBCSMadeEasy:: How many hours did you study per day? How many months did it take you to complete the core syllabus of Compulsory and optional subjects?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty : :As I work with an IT MNC,I hardly used to get time during daytime.Hence I had to be nocturnal animal to carry on my studies :).More or less I used to study for around 4 Hrs a day.

WBCSMadeEasy:: Did u use internet, was it effective?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty :: Internet is the gateway to the world of information.Hence be it a simple issue or a complex one,internet searching always has satiated my thirst for knowledge.

WBCSMadeEasy:: Which newspapers & magazines you went through?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty ::I used to read Pesha Probesh,Pratiyogita Pariprekshit and Yojana for my WBCS Preparation.

WBCSMadeEasy:: Did u took coaching? How was the experience?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty ::I took coaching in two of the institutions for compulsory and optional papers namely XXXXXXXXXXXXxx and XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
I must say my experience is too good.I am specially indebted to Mr XXXXXXXXXX of XXXXXXXXX group and XXXXXXXXXXXXX for their relentless support.

WBCSMadeEasy:: What about Interview in WBCS? Was the board cordial? What should be a proper preparation?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty :: The board consisted of 4 members and they all were very affable.They were mainly asking me questions related to Current affairs,my present job etc.

WBCSMadeEasy:: Plz suggest some good books.

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty ::For prelims I think reading text books are very beneficial.And please never forget to take notes while reading.

For compulsory I used to read Tozammel Hossain(Economics) & notes from XXXXXXXXXXXXx group,Anadi Kumar Mahapatra(Polity) & notes from XXXXXXXXXXXx group etc.

I read books of S K Mangal,Baron,Ciccarelli,Morgan king,Manjur Ahmed(Abnormal Psychology),V S Velluri(Organisational Behaviour) etc….For Psychology optional

For Anthro I used to read books of R.M Sarkar and Somnath Bose.

WBCSMadeEasy:: What should be the strategy for cracking this exam?What message you want to give to all aspirants?

Mr. Anupam Chakrabarty : : There is no short-cut to success.But being technical lessens the amount of hardship, so be precise while preparing your notes,try to mark the key points of your answers while preparing it so that during exam days those can be read in a jiffy and moreover putting individuality in your answers will take you to the acme of success.
