GEOGRAPHY WBCS Main পরীক্ষার জন্য তথাকথিত "সবচেয়ে স্কোরিং" optionals এর একটি।এটির একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত পাঠ্যক্রম আছে এবং আপনি অন্যান্য optionals তুলনায় কম অধ্যয়ন করতে পারবেন। আপনি বিষয়টি ভাল জানলে সব optionals -ই scoring। কিন্তু যতদূর ভূগোল সম্পর্কে বলা যায়, জীবনে ভূগোল পড়ে নি যারা, সামান্য প্রচেষ্টার সঙ্গে 70% + + স্কোর করতে পারেন।

GEOGRAPHY is one of the so called " most scoring" optionals for WBCS Main Exam. It has a concise syllabus and you have to study less compared to other optionals. All optionals are scoring as long as you know the subject well. But as far as Geography is concerned, people who have never studied Geography in life, can score 70% + with little effort.

It has one more advantage. A great amount of questions and answers , specially in paper II, one can write materials from books as well as he/she can add something on his/her own. And in Main exam , original writing is rewarded. So it is very scoring. One must complete 60% of syllabus by the Prelims exam as after the Prelims, mental condition remains such that one cannot, generally, study new subjects. Ideally one should complete syllabus of psycho within 6 months (yes we saying this considering servicemen, students, etc.).

For example, question from 2014 Main of WBCS Exam asks to write about migration and its consequences. Now this question has some theoretical part, studied from books/notes, but you can add your own experience , thinking etc. and it will definitely increase your marks. You know, WBCS is not an exam to memorise subjects and write it there at exam. You need to KNOW the subject and write properly.

Actually, one cannot study and remember whole subject. You have to study selectively. Thumb rule is "Cover 60% of the Syllabus to score 80%". So it is important to know what to study and what not.

Even with small efforts , you can prepare it. BUT you have to have some knack on this subject.
