WBCSMadeEasy:When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?

Koushik Bisoyee:After Leaving the job in a Software company by the end of 2010, repelled by the nature of the job,I discovered that corporate culture is not what I was looking for.Decided to join public service,so why not WBCS first?

WBCSMadeEasy:Tell us something about yourself?

Koushik Bisoyee:I had my schooling from Salboni High School,Paschim medinipur upto 12th.Scored 84% in Madhyamik in 2004,81% in HS in 2006.Then I completed my B.Tech from JIS College of engg.kalyani ,nadia.

WBCSMadeEasy:What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?

Koushik Bisoyee:Psychology and Anthropology.Simple criteria was to score more marks.Syllabus was also feasible to complete.

WBCSMadeEasy:How did you sustain the study-momentum throughout the year?

Koushik Bisoyee:Actually I and my wife both were preparing.That gave us a GROUP in home.That group study helped us to sustain our momentm.Pls friend,try to form a group and study.

WBCSMadeEasy:How many hours did you study per day? How many months did it take you to complete the core syllabus of Compulsory and optional subjects?

Koushik Bisoyee:It didn't really matter.It is the quality rather than quantity of study that matters.to get a good command in core syllabus will take at least 15 months.

WBCSMadeEasy:Did u use internet, was it effective?

Koushik Bisoyee:extensively.I think internet was the single most important thing in my prep.

WBCSMadeEasy:Were you doing any other job during preparation?

Koushik Bisoyee:Yes ,I am currently working in a Project under National Informatics Center as Software Support Personnel.

WBCSMadeEasy:Which newspapers & magazines you went through?

Koushik Bisoyee:Initially I was foolowing ABP,And TOI.Then Shifted to The Hindu.Pratijogita Pariprekshit,pesha prabesh,compettition refreshers are some magazine i followed.

WBCSMadeEasy:Did u take coaching? How was the experience?

Koushik Bisoyee:No.Took helps of seniors.

WBCSMadeEasy:What about Interview in WBCS? Was the board cordial? What should be a proper preparation?

Koushik Bisoyee:Very basic in nature.Genreral awareness shoul b good.Follow a newspaper regularly(any english daily).try to practicise speaking in english in group.

WBCSMadeEasy:Plz suggest some good books for pre, comp, optional.

Koushik Bisoyee:Strees should be to Text BOOKs.Read and revise many time.There are extensive list of books available in market.Surf net to find out list.

WBCSMadeEasy:What should be the strategy for cracking this exam?What message you want to give to all aspirants?

Koushik Bisoyee:Follow 3D--Determination not to let down your motivation.Decipline in your strategy nd study.Dedication to your preparation.Friends the exam is the test of not your intellectual level but your patience level.

WBCSMadeEasy:Was it ur 1st attempt? If not what about previous ones? You are from which batch and what was your rank in WBCS Exam ?

Koushik Bisoyee:No It was my 2nd attempt.I am from 2013 batch (1st attempt in 2012 with Gr A ADSR Post).About rank--I didn't really figure it out from list given on psc site.

WBCSMadeEasy:What about the changing pattern of WBCS exam from 2014?

Koushik Bisoyee:It becomes bit tougher than the previous one.More extensive and smarter study is required.
