    HC prohibits live courtstreaming on social media

    • The Karnataka High Court temporarily restrained YouTube, META, and X from sharing live court proceedings.
    • Five private YouTube channels – Kahale News, Fans Troll, Prathhidhvani, Avaniyana, and Ravindra Joshi Creations – were also restrained from uploading livestreamed videos.
    • The court directed these platforms and private YouTube channels to delete all live-streamed court proceedings videos.
    • Notices were issued to various parties, including the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, State government, Registrar-General of the High Court, social media platforms, and private YouTube channels.
