    Centre’s Samagra Siksha Abhiyan funding delayed; over 20,000 unpaid.

    • Union and Tamil Nadu governments are tussling over the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
    • Over 20,000 personnel under the SSA in the State are yet to receive their salaries.
    • The Union government contributes ₹2,152 crore in four instalments, while the State contributes ₹1,434 crore.
    • The Tamil Nadu government has yet to receive the first instalment of ₹573 crore from the Centre, which should have been disbursed by June this year.
    • The issue affects permanent staff, data entry staff, special educators, physiotherapists, and part-time teachers.
