    BJP Wins Haryana Assembly and J&K

    • BJP wins 48 seats in Haryana, two above the majority mark in the 90-member Assembly.
    • National Conference-led alliance in Jammu & Kashmir wins 49 seats, with NC alone winning 41.
    • Congress wins only six of the 32 seats it contested, with one in Jammu.
    • BJP wins 29 seats in Jammu, despite failing to open its account in the Kashmir Valley.
    • Results set the mood for upcoming polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
    • Congress disappointed in J&K election, marking the first Assembly election since the 2019 legislation struck down Article 370.
    • National Conference victory was particularly sweet, following leader Omar Abdullah’s defeat in the Lok Sabha election.
    • Aam Aadmi Party opens its account for the first time in J&K.
    • BJP returns to power for the third consecutive time in Haryana, defeating the “divisive policies” of the Congress.
