    Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud recommends Justice Sanjiv Khanna for the 51st Chief Justice of India.
    • Justice Khanna, a senior advocate with a diverse legal background, is the next in line.
    • Khanna has practiced in various fields including constitutional law, direct taxation, arbitration, commercial law, company law, land law, environmental law, and medical negligence.
    • He was elevated as an Additional judge of the Delhi High Court in 2005 and made a permanent judge in 2006.
    • Khanna was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court in 2019.
    • Despite being ranked 33 in the combined seniority of High Court judges, he was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on merit and integrity.
