The government doubles the Mudra Yojana loan limit to ₹20 lakh.

• The government has increased the loan limit under PMMY to ₹20 lakh to promote entrepreneurship.
• The increase aims to further the Mudra Scheme’s objective of funding unfunded loans.
• The limit was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2024-25.
• The new category of Tarun Plus is for loans above ₹10 lakh and up to ₹20 lakh.
• The guarantee coverage of PMMY loans for amounts up to ₹20 lakh will be provided under the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU).
