    PM Warns of “Digital Arrest” Scam

    • Prime Minister Narendra Modi warns against the “digital arrest” scam that defrauds victims of their hard-earned money.
    • Fraudsters pose as officials from law enforcement agencies and sometimes the Reserve Bank of India.
    • They collect personal information, create fear, and threaten to arrest victims.
    • The three steps to digital security are ‘Stop-Think-Take Action’.
    • People should dial the national cyberhelpline number 1930, report the incident on cybercrime.gov.in, inform their families and the police, and preserve evidence.
    • The National Cyber Coordination Centre has been set up for effective action against cyberfrauds.
