    Indian Army Commences Verification Patrolling in Depsang, India

    • Indian Army has started verification patrolling at Depsang, the second friction point in eastern Ladakh.

    • The exercise has begun on mutually agreed terms at both friction points.

    • The patrolling at Demchok began on Friday, a day after the disengagement at the two friction points in eastern Ladakh.

    • The traditional practice of sweet exchange between Indian and Chinese troops was observed a day after both countries completed troop disengagement at the two friction points.

    • The agreement was finalized following negotiations and is expected to resolve issues arising in 2020.

    • The move marks a significant development in reducing tension along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
