Rajnath Singh’s Visit to Laos

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh may meet with Chinese Admiral Dong Jun at the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ meeting in Laos.

• Singh’s visit follows the disengagement at Depsang and Demchok and resumption of patrolling in Line of Actual Control.

• Singh will visit Laos from November 20 to 22 for the 11th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting-Plus (ADMM Plus).

• Last month, Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their first formal bilateral meeting in five years, welcoming the resolution of the military stand-off at the LAC.
