India, Australia Form Renewable Energy Partnership
• India and Australia have signed a renewable energy partnership and a comprehensive economic cooperation agreement.
• The Renewable Energy Partnership (REP) will focus on areas like solar energy, green hydrogen, energy storage, and related projects.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese pledge to increase bilateral ties in defence, security, mobility, science and technology, and education.
• The two countries are also working on new cooperation possibilities in areas like defence industry, critical minerals, renewable energy, ship building, space, and sports.
• The Prime Ministers also aim to build on the momentum of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) signed in 2022.
• The Prime Minister stressed the need to resolve conflicts and tensions through dialogue and diplomacy.
