Mizoram Opposition Demands Manipur CM Biren Singh’s Resignation
• Mizoram’s Opposition Mizo National Front demands Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh resign due to his government’s failure to resolve ethnic conflict in Manipur.
• The MNF, comprising 10 MLAs in the 40-member Mizoram Assembly, argues that Singh’s inaction and misuse of power have worsened the situation.
• The MNF demands immediate resignation and urgent action from the Central government to end the crisis and reclaim democratic rights and dignity.
• The MNF alleges that Singh’s leadership has led to the killing of 219 ethnic kin, destruction of 360 churches, 200 villages, and 7,000 homes, and over 41,000 displaced individuals.
• The MNF urges the Lalduhoma-led Zoram People’s Movement government to continue supporting the Manipur-displaced.
