Manipur Special Investigation Teams (SITs) Chargesheets

• SITs filed chargesheets in 6% of 3,023 cases after ethnic violence in Manipur.

• Chargesheets for rape, sexual offenses against women, arson, loot, murder, and other heinous acts were filed in 192 cases.

• SITs arrested 384 persons, identified 742 suspects, and examined 11,901 witnesses.

• As many as 574 accused persons have been charged.

• SITs seized 501 weapons and 13,464 ammunition.

• Trials for cases are yet to begin.

• Case of sexual assault of two Kuki-Zo women remains unsolved.
