    • DGP Rajeev Kumar warns against allowing Bangladesh’s volatile situation to affect peace in West Bengal.

    • He argues that border management is the Border Security Force’s responsibility and acknowledges “lapses” in border management.

    • Specimens of Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal since the fall of Sheikh Hasina regime.

    • The police are also facing criticism over the arrest of an alleged militant associated with a Kashmir terror outfit.

    • Kumar credited West Bengal police for apprehending the militant, stating they tracked his movements and called the Kashmir police.
