  • Unseasonal Rains Affect Odisha Farmers: Mohan Majhi Government Offers Input Subsidy

    • The government has announced an input subsidy of ₹291.59 crore for farmers who have suffered crop loss above 33% due to unseasonal rains.

    • The subsidy will be provided by the State Disaster Relief Fund.

    • The Samrudh Kisan Yojana provides an additional input support of ₹800 over the minimum support price of ₹2,300 per quintal of paddy.

    • The issue sparked political controversy, with the Biju Janata Dal accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party government of being slow in assessing crop losses and providing compensation
