Delhi-NCR Air Quality Control Measures
• The Centre has tightened pollution-related curbs to combat a dip in air quality in Delhi-NCR due to unfavorable meteorological conditions.
• The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) reinforced Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), including a ban on non-essential construction work, BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel cars, and staggered office timings.
• Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) at 4 p.m. was 371, falling under the’severe’ category.
• The CAQM warns of potential deterioration in air quality over the coming days.
