  • Bangladesh Revokes Deposed Prime Minister’s Passport

    • Bangladesh revoked the passports of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 96 others due to their role in the July-August 2024 protest crackdown.

    • The passports of 22 individuals involved in enforced disappearances were cancelled, while 75 people, including Hasina, were revoked due to their involvement in the July killings.

    • The 96 others’ passports were not revealed.

    • The cancellation of Hasina’s passport is expected to cause hardships for India, where she is currently stationed.

    • The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit ordered banks to share information and transaction details of Hasina, her family, and others.
