    • Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi authorized Corps Commanders to handle issues at the ground level regarding patrolling and grazing.

    • He deemed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) “sensitive but stable” and emphasized the Army’s deployment along as “balanced and robust”.

    • Dwivedi also addressed a question on whether an understanding had been reached with China not to block their patrols in the Yangtse area in Arunachal Pradesh.

    • He stated that two rounds of verification patrolling had been completed by both sides.

    • He termed the areas as “temporary moratoriums” due to potential high violence levels.

    • Dwivedi emphasized the need for a new definition of trust between the two countries after April 2020.

    • He noted that the ceasefire understanding reached in February 2022 is still in effect, but the terror infrastructure across remains intact and infiltration attempts continue.

    • He also addressed a query over the 1971 painting, describing it as depicting India’s civilization and modern technology.
