Centre says 126 Indians joined Russia Army, 16 ‘missing’
• The Indian government is aware of 126 cases of Indians joining the Russian Army in the Ukraine conflict.
• Of these, 96 have returned to India, 12 have been killed, and 16 are “missing.”
• The Indian embassy is in contact with Russian authorities to ascertain the whereabouts of the missing Indian nationals and seek early release and repatriation of those remaining.
• The Indian embassy is also in contact with Russian authorities to ensure the return of Binil Babu, a 32-year-old from Kerala, who died from injuries from a drone attack.
