Pinaka ammo contracts worth ₹10,147 crore

• Contracts signed with EEL and MIL for procurement of Area Denial Munition (ADM) Type-1 and High Explosive Pre-Fragmented (HEPF)-Mk-1 rockets.

• A contract for upgrades in Shakti software signed with BEL.

• ADM Type-1 ammunition delivers a quantity of submunitions over a larger area, denying specific areas to the enemy.

• The upgraded Pinaka will be the mainstay of the Army’s long-range rocket artillery.

• DRDO announced successful completion of flight tests of guided Pinaka rockets, doubling the original range.

• The fully automated 214-mm Pinaka MRLS battery can deliver 72 rockets on a target up to 75 km in 44 seconds.
