Telangana to increase SC reservation after next Census.

• Telangana government plans to increase reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC) communities post-public data from the next Census.
• Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the State Irrigation Minister, stated that different sections of society have demanded an increase in SC reservation.
• Reddy stated that the government is committed to providing quota proportionate to SC population.
• Current reservation for SC communities in Telangana is 15% based on the 2011 Census.
• The actual figure will be known only after the 2026 Census.
