• Jaishankar criticized Pakistan for human rights abuses, persecution of minorities, and the systematic erosion of democratic values.
• He noted that India had compiled 2,400 incidents of violence against minorities in Bangladesh in 2024 and 72 incidents in 2025.
• Jaishankar’s comments come as a report by the US Commission for International Religious Freedom recommended Pakistan to be designated a “Country of Particular Concern” due to the persecution of minorities.
