    • US President Trump’s 26% tariff on Indian goods will significantly affect Indian seafood exports, which totaled $7.38 billion in 2023-24.
    • India, the largest exporter of seafood to the U.S., has a 35% share in the U.S. market.
    • Ecuador, India’s closest competitor, has been hit with a 10% tariff.
    • India exported 17.81 lakh tonnes of seafood in 2023-24, earning ₹60,523 crore.
    • The U.S. is the biggest importer, accounting for 2.97 lakh tonnes worth about $488 million.
