India, China restart Kailash Manasarovar Yatra
• The annual Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, suspended since 2019, is being resumed by both countries.
• Talks are underway to narrow gaps in infrastructure and revive logistical systems.
• The Ministry of External Affairs convened a meeting on April 21 to discuss the resumption.
• Special transport arrangements are being made to save pilgrims from a 80-100 km trek.
• The pilgrimage was suspended due to China withdrawing facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic and tensions at the Line of Actual Control after the 2020 Galwan killings.
