Saha handles Bangladesh border embankment flood concerns.

• Tripura’s Chief Minister, Manik Saha, has taken measures against Bangladesh’s construction of an embankment along the India-Bangladesh border in South Tripura district.

• The embankment is located at Kalikapur on the banks of the flood-prone Muhuri river.

• Concerns about flooding in Belonia town, Ballamukh, and Amjadnagar localities were raised by local representatives.

• The situation is being closely monitored and given top priority.

• The government plans to construct a dam on the river bank as a countermeasure.

• Measures are also being taken against Border Guards Bangladesh’s objections to the maintenance of a dam in Kailashahar, Unakoti district.
