‘Sarvam AI, first startup to win government help to construct AI model’

• Bengaluru-based Sarvam AI to receive government support for building an indigenous AI large language model (LLM).

• Access to a pool of graphics processing units (GPUs) acquired under the government’s IndiaAI Mission.

• The model will be fluent in Indian languages, designed for voice, capable of reasoning, and ready for secure, population-scale deployment.

• 350 datasets have been uploaded in AI Kosh, a portal for structured data for AI developers in India.

• Tools and technologies requested from IITs and other institutes are almost completed under the India AI Safety Institute initiative.
