CBI arrests five for selling SIM cards ‘without approval’
• Five arrested during searches in eight states as part of ‘Operation Chakra-V’ against transnational cybercrime syndicates.
• 38 premises of telecom operators providing SIM cards to cybercriminals searched in Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
• Incriminating documents and articles seized, including mobile phones, electronic devices, KYC copies, and identification papers.
• Action part of India’s commitment to deal with cybercrime and its perpetrators.
