Arunachal closes 386 government schools

• 386 government-run schools in Arunachal Pradesh have been ordered to close due to ‘zero enrolment’.

• Some schools have had ‘zero enrolment’ for successive academic years and were non-functional.

• West Kameng district topped the list with 73 primary, upper primary, middle, and secondary schools closed.

• Four schools in Itanagar were ordered to be closed.

• Teachers posted in these schools will be withdrawn and reposted to other schools with staff shortages.
