    • On June 12, US President Donald Trump urged Israel not to strike Iran, referring to a possible deal on Iran’s nuclear program.

    • The US and Iran were scheduled to meet for a sixth round of dialogue in Muscat on June 15.

    • Israel launched its largest air strike in Iran, hitting the Natanz nuclear facility and missile sites, and assassinating its top Generals.

    • The attack raised questions about whether Israel went ahead against the wishes of the Trump administration.

    • Israeli officials claimed that Trump knew about Israel’s attack plans and had given Iran 60 days to make a deal.

    • Trump warned that more “brutal” attacks were coming and that Iran must make a deal before nothing is left.

    • Iran’s immediate response was to reject the planned June 15 talks, responding with hundreds of ballistic missiles.
