    • The Supreme Court’s recent ruling requiring candidates to have at least three years of litigation experience before judicial service examination has sparked concerns among recent graduates.

    • The court emphasized the need for practical exposure to the courtroom before assuming office, stating that knowledge from books or pre-service training cannot replace first-hand experience.

    • A review petition filed by Chandrasen Yadav, a young advocate, argues that the mandatory three-year requirement infringes on his fundamental rights.

    • Another petitioner, Chandra Sharma, highlights the requirement to obtain a practice certificate from a lawyer with 10 years of standing.

    • The review petition also argues that the apex court has overlooked key aspects of the Shetty Commission’s 1999 report, which recommended a three-year practice period.
