First state to vote via mobile app: Bihar
• Bihar became the first Indian state to allow voters to cast their vote via mobile phones.
• The voting took place in six Nagar Panchayats, including Patna, Buxar, Rohtas, and East Champaran.
• Some voters were able to cast their vote from home using a mobile phone app, a facility made available for senior citizens, disabled individuals, and pregnant women.
• The State Election Commission website was also used for voting.
• Eligible voters could install the E-SECBHR app and link their mobile number to their voter list.
• The app, developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, is not yet available for the upcoming Assembly election.
• Efforts have been made to maintain transparency and ensure a smooth and fair voting process.
