U.S. Designates The Resistance Front as a Terror Group
• The U.S. has designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a ‘Foreign Terrorist Organisation’ and ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’.
• TRF, backed by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
• The move is seen as an endorsement of India’s international counter-terror campaign.
• External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar viewed the move as a “strong affirmation of India-U.S. counter-terrorism cooperation.”
• The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that India will continue to hold terrorist organizations accountable.
