Bihar Cabinet Approves 125 Units of Free Electricity
• The Bihar Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide up to 125 units of free electricity to 1.67 crore domestic consumers across the state.
• Effective from August 1, 2025, the scheme will grant a 100% subsidy for consumption up to 125 units, with no fixed or additional charges.
• The move will benefit 1.67 crore families and will not require payment for the first 125 units of power.
• The decision to provide 125 units free will not be applicable to commercial and industrial consumers.
• For households consuming over 125 units, the first 125 units will be free, and the remaining units will be charged at the existing subsidised rates under the Mukhya Mantri Vidyut Upbhokta Sahayata Yojana.
