    • Prime Minister Narendra Modi surpasses former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s record of 4,078 consecutive terms.

    • Modi completed an unbroken tenure of 4,078 days from January 24, 1966, to March 24, 1977.

    • Modi’s record is the second longest unbroken tenure in India, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s record.

    • Modi has won three successive Lok Sabha elections, securing his place as the longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister.

    • Modi is also the longest-serving head of government at both State and Central levels for the longest continuous stint.

    • He was appointed Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and held the post until 2014, becoming Prime Minister.
