Uttarakhand Flash Floods Rescue
• Around 190 people were rescued from Dharali town in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, following flash floods.
• The town was covered in mud and slush, with scores missing.
• Two bodies were recovered from the site.
• Heavy rainfall and bad weather hampered rescue efforts, with roads blocked by mud and boulders.
• Uttarakhand’s Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman stated that around 15 people were missing from the disaster spot.
• 150 Army personnel, 12 jawans from Ghatak battalion, 100 personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and six jawans from the State Disaster Response Force were working tirelessly in the rescue operations.
