    • Manpreet Singh, the second-most capped player in Indian hockey, is aiming for a second wind by improving his fitness and lifestyle.

    • After the Paris Games and Asian Champions Trophy, Singh decided to focus on his fitness to stay relevant in modern hockey.

    • He has drastically altered his diet and training regimen, cutting down on sweets and junk food, and incorporating specialized workouts focused on speed and core strength.

    • Despite speculation about his 2028 Los Angeles Olympics ambitions, Singh is not making long-term commitments.

    • He is confident that India will qualify for the 2026 World Cup through the Asia Cup in Rajgir, Bihar.

    • India has won only one World Cup so far in 1975, and in the last tournament held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in 2023, the host team finished ninth.
