• Sumit Nagal defeated 18-year-old Henry Bernet in the fourth rubber for a 3-1 victory over Switzerland in the Davis Cup World Group-1 tie in Biel.

• Nagal had won his singles match after Dhakshineswar Suresh defeated Swiss No.1 Jerome Kym in straight sets.

• India lost the tough doubles match as the Swiss pair of Jakub Paul and Dominic Stricker beat Sriram Balaji and Rithvik Bollipalli.

• Nagal was pleased with his performance, stating that it had been a while for India to win in Europe.

• The Indian pair could have won the doubles but failed to convert three breakpoints in the ninth game on Paul’s serve.

• Despite this, Nagal won two of the three points for India.
