Kurmis Call Off Rail Blockade in Jharkhand

• Kurmi community agitated for Scheduled Tribe status and Kurmali language inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

• The agitation was withdrawn from all stations after the Centre assured them of a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

• Blockades at Sini and Pradhan Khanta stations were also withdrawn.

• The agitation led to the cancellation, diversion, and short-termination of over 100 passenger train services.

• The cancelled services are being restored, with many already restored.
