Musi River Floods in Hyderabad

• Heavy rain and water release from Osman Sagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs flooded several localities in Hyderabad.

• Water entered about 200-300 houses in and around Chaderghat, many of which were completely submerged.

• Residents claimed they were not alerted about the water release from reservoirs.

• The water level rose rapidly, forcing families to move to upper floors and some spending the night on rooftops.

• The first time in 60 years that 15 gates of the Osman Sagar were lifted by nine feet.

• About 2,000 passengers were evacuated from the inundated bus station at MGBS.

• The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation shifted over 1,000 residents from flood-prone areas to safer locations and provided relief to stranded families.

• Drones were used to supply food to those stranded, and the National Disaster Response Force was deployed to bring the residents to safety.

• Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued instructions to evacuate the stranded people and take relief measures.
