Manhas has chosen BCCI chief

• Mithun Manhas is the newly elected 37th president of the BCCI, taking office during the 94th AGM.

• BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and other office-bearers were elected unopposed.

• Former bowlers R.P. Singh and Pragyan Ojha join the senior men’s selection panel, while S. Sharath is reappointed as chair of the junior men’s selection panel.

• Four new senior women selectors were appointed, including chairperson Amita Sharma, based on recommendations from the Cricket Advisory Committee.

• The election tradition of unopposed candidates continues for the sixth consecutive year.

• Saikia retains his position as secretary; Rajiv Shukla remains vice-president.

• A. Raghuram Bhat has been elected as treasurer, while Prabhtej Singh Bhatia moves to joint-secretary.

• Jaydev Shah is added to the BCCI apex council, and Arun Singh Dhumal remains IPL Governing Council chairman.

• Major members like the Maharashtra Cricket Association and Cricket Association of Bengal skipped the AGM.

• Anirudh Chaudhury proposed the reintroduction of the Talent Resource Development Wing.

• Other key committees include WPL chaired by Jayesh George and infrastructure led by Rohan Jaitley.
