The Indian Navy is set to commission INS Androth, the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft

• The Indian Navy will commission INS Androth on October 6 at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam.

• The event will be presided over by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Commander-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command.

• INS Androth is the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.

• The commissioning represents a significant advancement in India’s maritime self-reliance efforts.

• This event follows the recent induction of other warships, including Arnala, Nistar, Udaygiri, and Nilgiri, indicating a balanced modernization strategy for the Navy.
