Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights files suo moto case against teachers for corporal punishment

• KSCPCR registered a case related to corporal punishment in Bengaluru and Chitradurga schools.

• Deputy Directors of Public Instruction were asked to visit schools, conduct an investigation, and submit a report within 7 days.

• Shashidhar Kosambi, KSCPCR member, stated corporal punishment is a punishable offence.

• Legal action will be recommended against the guilty.
