Ayushman Vay Vandana Card for Senior Citizens in India
• Launched on October 29, 25 lakh senior citizens aged 70 and above have enrolled for the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card.
• The scheme, part of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, has benefited 22,000 senior citizens.
• Beneficiaries have undergone procedures like coronary angioplasty, hip replacement, gallbladder removal, cataract surgery, prostate resection, haemodialysis, stroke, enteric fever, and other febrile illnesses.
• The card provides health cover of ₹5 lakh free, irrespective of socio-economic status.
• Eligible senior citizens can register through multiple channels, including visiting nearest empanelled hospitals, downloading the Ayushman app, or visiting www.beneficiary.nha.gov.in.
