• Choksi, an Antiguan citizen, moved to Belgium for cancer treatment and was arrested near Antwerp.

• He secured a Belgian residency permit in November 2023, with his wife being a Belgian citizen.

• Choksi’s case is set to appear in Belgian courts next week.

• Choksi’s extradition request has been pending since 2018, with previous cases dismissed by Dominican courts and Interpol withdrawn due to claims of human rights violations and political targeting.
